Podcast Episode #1: COVID Challenges and Embracing the Future
Episode 1 featured Mush Khan, the President at The NOW Network, interviewing two energy industry leaders, Bob Kenyon, President of Atlas Oil Company, and Doug Haugh, President of Parkland USA.
The focus of this podcast is how the combination of the COVID-19 pandemic, oil price collapse, and economic downtown has forced them to change the way they run their businesses, both operationally and at the employee level. They further discuss how these changing factors is pushing them towards a future they envisioned, but at a much faster pace.
Here is a short bio of each of our guests.
Doug has worked in the energy and technology industries for over 25 years. He began his career with Exxon, serving in marketing and business development. Previously as Co-Founder and COO of Fuelquest, Doug created supply chain management and tax automation solutions. As President and Chief Strategy Officer of Mansfield Energy, Doug was the driving force behind Mansfield’s corporate strategy, acquisitions, partnerships, and alliances. Doug is currently the President of Parkland USA.
In 2006, Doug was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Energy Technology, Houston and Gulf Coast Area. He was honored as a 2009 Clemson Alumni Entrepreneur by the Arthur M. Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Clemson University. He was named to the CIO 100 in 2010 and 2011 by CIO magazine.
Bob has also worked in the petroleum industry for over 25 years. He joined Atlas Oil in 1997 and has held a variety of positions during that time, including Commercial Sales Manager, General Manager of Atlas Indiana, VP of Strategic Initiatives, VP of Sales and Operations, VP of Sales and Marketing, EVP of Sales and Business Development and EVP and Chief Operating Officer. Currently, as the President for Atlas Oil Company he oversees the execution of Atlas Oil’s day to day operations and its ongoing strategic sales and marketing efforts. In addition, he’s responsible for business development for existing channels of trade, M&A opportunities, as well as new product and service offerings. He has previous experience at Clark Refining as a Market Support Team Leader and Emro Marketing Company as District Manager.
